The essentials

When: Saturday, September 25th 2027, 10 am

Where: The start is at Potsdamer Platz and the finish on Straße des 17. Juni after the Brandenburg Gate.

How much: 5 K

How long: Time limit – 1 hour (from crossing the starting line)

Participation and registration

Registration will be open from November 27th 2026 to September 25th 2027.

Eligible to participate: Born in 2017 or older

Participation fee: 34,50 €

Race material pick up

The race material can only be collected on Thursday and Friday at the MARATHON EXPO by BRITA during opening hours. Race material will not be handed out on Saturday.
You must collect your bib number in person without exception.

Your pre-ordered merchandising items must be picked up at the EXPO with your start card at the merchandise counter. 

Notes for your race day

  • The event does not offer a clothing drop-off, please come to the start with your running clothes.
  • There will be 4 starting blocks. Choose the starting block that corresponds to your target time on site.
  • The award ceremony will take place at 10:45 am. The first three women and men according to gun time will be honored.
  • Medal engraving will be offered on Saturday on site in Scheidemannstraße. You can take this service for 12€. You can find the exact location on the start/finish area map.
     

Age group winner

Age group winners from age over 40 from the current year will receive a free race entry for the following year!

The free race entry can only be claimed in the following year. We will send the winners all registration information and an access code automatically by e-mail as soon as the registration is possible.

Photo package

At the GENERALI 5K as part of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2025, Sportograf will also take pictures of you and make this special day unforgettable for you. When you register, you can secure your very own personal photo flat with all your photos and additional impressions of the event.

As soon as the photos are online, you will automatically receive an e-mail with the download link to your photos.

Insurance

Cancellation insurance is handled by the product "GENERALI Startplatzrücktrittsversicherung" by Redion SA. This insurance covers the participation fee paid for regular registration. Additional services booked are excluded from the insurance.

Useful information

Start Card

  • The start card is your personal ticket to the MARATHON EXPO by BRITA.
  • You’ll receive it automatically via email a few weeks before the event (please check your spam folder as well).
  • The start card includes a 4-day ticket for public transportation in fare zones A, B, and C. More information on how to use the ticket will be included in the start card email.

Race material

  • You can pick up your race material in person only at the MARATHON EXPO.
  • To do so, you’ll need your start card and a photo ID.

We ask for your understanding that we cannot refund registration fees.

To protect your entry fee, we recommend purchasing GENERALI's race cancellation insurance when you register.

Starting spots are assigned to specific individuals and events. They may not be transferred to another person or to another year.

If you become pregnant, you have the option to postpone your start date for up to three years.

Proof of pregnancy must be provided in the form of a doctor's note.

The medical team from the organizer as well as additional paramedics are responsible for the medical care during the event. The assigned staff is authorized and obligated to remove runners from the race who are hurt or overexerting.

Every person who decides to run a marathon should undergo a medical check at least ones a year.

Please take two to three minutes to complete our free online health check. The results will not affect your eligibility to participate.

You can act on the recommendation at the end of the test at your own discretion. The PAPS test is not a substitute for a doctor’s visit and does not provide definitive conclusions about an existing or developing risk.

Please be sure to list one or two emergency contacts in your user account.

During an event, we and various institutions such as the police, fire brigade or medical aid organisations often receive search requests for the whereabouts of missing participants. In order to be able to answer these as quickly as possible and in compliance with data protection laws, we ask you to list one or two contact persons to whom we may provide information should they request info as to whether you are undergoing medical treatment in a hospital.

We require the surname, first name, date of birth and telephone number of the contact persons. Please understand that in case of inquiries – whether by telephone or at the information points in the finish area – we are only allowed to give information to the persons you have personally authorized with your registration.

We will contact a contact person named by you only in very special medical emergencies.

The indication of an emergency contact is voluntary.
